The NWMGA has established two primary goals: first, raising consistent, uniform, quality Murray Grey beef cattle and, second, an ongoing promotional effort to educate the cattle industry regarding this excellent product.

Breed Standards were established in 1991 and are reviewed yearly. These standards emphasize low birth weight with reasonable rate of gain which, along with the muscling ability of the breed, produce excellent results when Murray Grey bulls are used over heifers and cows of all breeds. A special advertising program was also developed and is actively supported by many members of the NWMGA.
The NWMGA encourages our agricultural youth by sponsoring a Youth Program which targets 4H and FFA students who work with Murray Grey or Murray Grey cross cattle in their projects. Special awards are given to these students at the yearly NWMGA Murray Grey Show held in Billings, Montana.
The Northwest Murray Grey Association's 2008 annual show will in Spokane, Wa. in September.
